本來今晚特意轉到旺角﹐是為了補買二月號的《讀書》。年晚要回家幫手﹐而後又在花市站了一周﹐一直不敢溜到書局入貨。如今遲了十數天﹐快速爬過十來間書局﹐都買不到了。
最後一站特意逛上梅馨﹐意在舊書。得一套六冊蘇東坡集﹐及一本隨手可執的梁啟超評李鴻章傳﹐亦可足此月玩味。本來在文星見到一本柳如是文集﹐想買很久了﹐但此版本仍不稱心﹐是用紙太新﹐書身太厚﹐不好上手。
自從轉了工後﹐戰戰兢兢﹐一直在強補 TCP/IP , VoIP 相關的書﹐其他書類良久無沾。本來放了最愛的三唐詩絜在辦工室用以調濟﹐反因無暇無心境去讀他﹐枉教封塵。
這幾年﹐我倒底在幹麼呢？實在很想洗滌心神﹐一振意志。兩場聚會﹐一齣話劇而後﹐忽而又萌生遠走一回之念。這三兩年內是不行的。但若家父真的在三年後退休﹐也許我該再打算一下。
十年一覺﹐韶華幾許。今天應邀回去莫壽增﹐參加98年中五畢業班的十周年聚會﹐再見一批闊別多年的中學同學﹐男士胖了﹐女士抹新妝了。
當年五班二百人﹐今天重回舊校一聚的有四五十人﹐亦不算少。倒是文科班比較齊人﹐理科班人數本應更多﹐但出席者少。蘇 Sir 說﹐能聯絡到的﹐或無暇﹐或不在港﹐更有不少根本是連絡不上。我上月收到請帖﹐卻是諸事忙碌﹐沒有在意地呼朋問友﹐自行組織。不知道﹐曾經同班的同學們﹐有幾多人拿到帖子﹐只嘆曰﹐初中到會考班同班學﹐今天卻是沒有見到幾個。
樊太在周三晚才來電問我可否聯絡其他人﹐何其遲呢？我周四還要做到八點幾九點﹐到周五﹐也只打通電話給一兩人﹐實在難為。
於是乎﹐茶會間﹐竟然跟老師聊的時間還比跟同學聊的多﹐不能不說是失望吧。有趣的故事﹐莫不過於光叔原來樂於搬出校舍﹐得以準時放工是也。另外﹐傾談間亦有聞﹐幾位同學或於年內﹐或已有計劃於不久之將來成家立室﹐實可喜可賀。
這兩晚上有跟 Sunny ﹐啟明網上通話﹐也有跟 William 通電﹐前兩者身處彼邦﹐後者自有事忙﹐尤嘆今次無法赴會﹐日後更難相約。
更何況﹐相逢應是不相知﹐舊事那堪吝新題。
帶著幾分沮喪﹐我到旺角買了幾本書﹐卻又跟大學朋友一起捧阿水的新劇目場。總算是七分休閒三分淡薄地回到居所。

話說佢個 xanga 先後俾幾個書商睇中﹐由 blog 變 book 只是早晚的事﹐講下講下唔覺唔覺又半年﹐卒之整成咁樣樣。方生呀方生﹐唔該你提提大家你呢本書應該編個甚麼分號？
若果話靠個書名個編者名去猜測內容﹐我點諗都係 cu forum 俾人擺上枱﹐而唔係方潤日記變成書。至於道長話乜麻辣教師﹐肥醫生仲話呢本書係情人節最佳禮物﹐實在令我問號滿天飛。咪咁誇好喎…話係《麻甩拉靶男》/《獨身會斷檻紀念冊》﹐咪一樣咁吸引？

按照電訊管理局的規定, 電話服務供應商, 以及中介、周延服務
提供者, 是要免費開通指定的緊急電話服務.
在香港的話, 最好把有接駁到公網電話的 soft pbx / sip router
, 設定幾個免費的轉駁號. 我建議的做法是把 911, 119, 999 都
轉駁到公網的 999 號.
私人用而唔攪, 還沒有甚麼責任. 但若替客戶拉線配 hardphone ,
都唔去設定免費緊急線路, 就有可能會上身了.
若果要攪, 也不只是 route 線路咁簡單. 為了使救急中心能在最少
資訊以內發掘足夠資料救急扶危, 轉駁中心是應該提供撥號端的地
理和聯絡資料. 在香港沒有明文指引規定怎做, 但可以諮詢警方,
或參考外國做法.

An open-source Video Sip client is coming …
Yes, you may have MSN, you may have GoogleTalk, you may have QQ, you may have what so ever IM software that can make voice and video call. I know these stuff well, and MSN have been brigded with yahoo messager, right ?
So what’s next ?
Something that enable you to talk and see people not in seats.
Something that confrom standards.
Something that you can make differences.
So, tech guys will know that I am talking about Fixed-Mobile-IP convergence, about SIP user agents, and open-source software.
You know it from the title, if not, please pick up your 3G / ordinary mobile phone / fixed line phone and try to make call to any of your internet IM buddies.
Some people already knows how to do. So do you ?

You cant do it by your own. That’s fine. The internet have not yet freely merged with the fixed / mobile phone networks. The phone networks have not yet meshed up as a whole.
To call a local ( lets say, Hong Kong ) plain old telephone servioe (POTS) end-point, we need a gateway to brigde them up. Hundreds of such gateways are up and running, although they are private / commercial. For mobile networks, I doubt if there are over two hundred of capable and running gateways. For 3G networks, perhaps we can find tens.
And there is a combo of gateways in my Lab. We can do 3G < -> PC video calls. We can do ordinary phone < -> PC calls. We have almost every function working.
The most important point is that we use SIP, a standard of looming IP-based Multimedia Subsystems. With a free eyebeam ( or X-lite, both from CounterPath - xten.com ) client, anybody who know our IP and account can login, even behind simple firewalls.
So we have done the gateway, and that would be a money making product.
Thanks to our manager, he agreed to make our eyebeam compatable Video SIP user agent to be open-source!

My own story….
I dont even start up my ICQ / MSN for … hmm about 2 years. Chatting in BBS is quite enough for me. And to find a missed friend, I would rather write an email. INSTANT messengers have been too annoying. If not spam, who will find me? And I wont bother any 80% away guy, there is no fun to do so.
In fact, not much topic is fun enough with guys that spend 40% of a day in front of computer and internet, and not developping any real stuff. I dont like to gossip, after all.
When I join this telephony project, and set up all the PBX PSTN gateway stuff, I was the first and frequent user. The reason bebind is that I dont have any allocated fixed line phone in the office,
and the mobile signal sucks. I have to contact my Mom to confirm my dinners, whilst keep concentrated on the monitor.
Later, I have to set up some fancy call routing / ring-groups for my father’s business. He dont use
computer. The phone server provider cants provide or customize such twisted plan. So I do it
with a private software PBX, and cut most of the add-value services from the telco.
You can do it as well.
